What is the difference between SPC and WPC flooring in general?SPC Flooring: Made with a core of stone and composite, SPC flooring is is known for its durability, 100% water resistance, and stability. It's ideal for high-traffic areas and areas prone to moisture. WPC Flooring: Composed of a wood and plastic composite core, WPC flooring is designed to be softer underfoot and offers excellent comfort and insulation. It's also water resistant and suitable for residential and light commercial use.

Do you have colour-coordinated mouldings available?Yes, we also provide colour-coordinated mouldings to complement your flooring choice. You can also find easily at many stores.

What should I use for cleaning and maintaining my SAOS™ floor?Opt for a "hardwood or vinyl floor cleaner," such as Puracy Natural Floor Cleaner®, Zep Vinyl Floor Cleaner® or Rejuvenate All Floors Cleaner®, or another "non-surfactant or less surfactant" cleaner. Steer clear of other cleaning solutions, as they might leave a residue that could dull the floor's finish.

What should I steer clear of when cleaning my floors?Avoid using abrasive cleaners, bathroom products, ammonia-based solutions, wax polishes, acrylic finishes, acidic or vinegar-based cleaners, oil soaps, detergents, chlorine bleach, solvents, or any type of polish. These substances can damage the floor's finish permanently and may invalidate the warranty.

Is it possible to fix scratches on my floor later?Yes, you can repair scratches on your floor. For minor scratches, use a touch-up kit or repair solution recommended by the manufacturer. For more significant scratches, you can use a clear-coat touchup pen to fix them. You can find these pens from "Mohawk-finishing" or some online market places. you may follow specific repair procedures outlined in the floor's care instructions.

What should I do if I spill something on my vinyl floor?Clean spills immediately using a damp cloth or sponge to prevent staining. For tougher stains, use a vinyl floor cleaner as recommended above or a mixture of mild soap and water.

Can I use a steam mop on my vinyl floors?It’s generally not recommended to use steam mops on vinyl floors as excessive moisture and heat can damage the surface and adhesives. Always check the manufacturer’s guidelines.

Is it okay to use a vacuum cleaner on my vinyl floors?Yes, but use a vacuum with a soft brush or hard floor setting to avoid scratching the surface.

How often should I clean my vinyl flooring?Regular maintenance involves sweeping or vacuuming weekly and mopping monthly or as needed, depending on foot traffic and dirt levels.

Will SAOS™ floors meet the acoustic performance standards required by my condo asssociation?Yes. SAOS™ IXPE underlayment, with a minimum thickness of 1.5mm, offers robust acoustic performance designed to significantly reduce noise transmission. It has been rigorously tested and has shown excellent results in both Sound Transmission Class (STC) and Impact Insulation Class (IIC) ratings. Given its proven effectiveness, SAOS™ IXPE should meet or even exceed the acoustic performance requirements set by your condo association.

Is it possible to glue down my SAOS™ floor?Yes, you can glue down your SAOS™ floor by following these steps: Adhere to all guidelines that are in the installation guide. Ensure the floor is glued directly to a wooden sub-floor (plywood or OSB) or concrete. Use one of the following approved vinyl floor adhesives and follow their instructions: MAPEI ECO-360 - is a high-quality, eco-friendly adhesive that is also suitable for commercial vinyl flooring installations. It is known for: 1. Strong Adhesion: Provides a secure bond, which is essential for high-traffic areas.2. Low Emissions: Has low VOCs, contributing to better indoor air quality.3. Versatility: Suitable for a range of substrates and environments. Overall, MAPEI ECO-360 is a reliable choice for commercial vinyl flooring due to its durability and environmental benefits. UNIVERSAL 7350 - Known for its versatility and strong adhesion, making it a good option for various commercial vinyl flooring applications. HENRY 647 - Provides a durable bond and is specifically designed for use with vinyl flooring in commercial settings. MAPEI Ultrabond ECO 810 - Known for its strong adhesion and durability. Can I lay my SAOS™ floor over a radiant heating system installed in the floor?Yes, you can install SAOS™ floors over in-floor radiant heating systems. These 2 types are approved: Circulating warm water systems Electric systems embedded in cement Just ensure the system temperature doesn’t exceed 28°C (82°F).

Can SAOS™ floors be installed outdoors?No, SAOS™ floors are designed exclusively for indoor use.

Can I use SAOS™ floors in a commercial or office setting?Yes, SAOS™ floors are suitable for light commercial and office environments. For these settings, the flooring must be glued down due to higher traffic and performance requirements.

Can I place my kitchen cabinets and island on top of my SAOS™ floor?No, make sure to leave a minimum 9mm (9/25”) expansion gap around all walls, cabinets, islands, and other vertical surfaces.

Is it possible to lay my SAOS™ floor over existing hardwood, laminate, vinyl, tile, or stone floors?Yes, but the existing floor needs to be smooth and level. When installing over tile or stone, there's no need to fill grout lines, but any damaged tiles should be repaired or patched. Be sure to follow the instructions and guidelines provided in the installation guide.

Can SAOS™ floors be installed in an unheated cottage or a three-season room?SAOS™ floors can be installed in those areas, but they must be glued down using one of the adhesives specified in the installation guide. The temperature should be maintained between 0°F and 90°F (-18°C to 32°C) year-round.

Should I leave gaps for expansion between the floor and vertical surfaces?Yes, vinyl floors will naturally expand and contract with daily and seasonal temperature changes. A 9mm (9/25”) gap is needed to accommodate this movement and allow the floor to adjust properly.

is it possible to install my SAOS™ floor over an additional under-pad?No,We don't advise. Adding a second under-pad can lead to excessive movement and deflection of the floor, potentially damaging the locking system and causing the profiles to break. It may also result in the planks becoming unlatched, leading to gaps in the floor.

Can I install my SAOS™ flooring over rigid sub-floor panels such as QuiteWalk®, DriCore®, Blue Skyscraper®, ThermoCore®, or comparable products in basement installations?In basement installations, it's possible to lay your SAOS™ flooring over rigid sub-floor panels like QuiteWalk®, DriCore®, Blue Skyscraper®, ThermoCore®, or similar products. Recommended to do based on instruction guide of manufacturer.

Is it possible to install vinyl flooring in my bathroom?Yes you can, our vinyl floors are waterproof and suitable for bathrooms, kitchens, laundry rooms, and similar areas. You can install your toilet on top of the planks, but be sure to drill holes for the mounting screws while maintaining a 9/25” gap from all vertical surfaces.

Can I place my SAOS™ flooring directly over a concrete slab?You can install our floors directly on a concrete slab. However, it's best to first lay down a 6 mil poly sheet as a vapor barrier to prevent moisture issues. Also, ensure the concrete slab is flat; use a self-leveling compound if needed.
